The Antiwesak takes place when the Sun is in Scorpio and the Moon in Taurus, which this year occurs with the Full Moon on 4 November 2017 (click here). This is the exact opposite of the Full Moon of the Wesak Festival, when the Sun is in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio. According to the teachings of Alice Bailey and the Tibetan Djwal Kool, the Wesak marks the peak of spiritual blessings in the world. There is an exceptional level of high spiritual energy, as it is said that the Christ gathers the entire Spiritual Hierarchy together in meditation, and the Buddha appears and blesses humanity.
The Antiwesak is just the opposite. It is the Shadow of the Wesak.
At the Antiwesak spiritual energies sink to their lowest. There is no Christ, no Buddha, no enlightened master. There are just plain human beings, with all their fears and limitations. All the luminous spirits, gods and saints abandon us and as human beings we need to find ways to take care of ourself. Hence the Antiwesak is the provocative celebration of finding our own way through the darkness, helping each other and being in good spirit, despite the negligence of the gods.
Perhaps the gods, luminous spirits, saints and enlightened beings have all gone or are deeply depressed, in need of great help from us, though they are ashamed to let us know. Let’s stop pestering them with requests of support and healing, and find the light within ourselves, the one that can heal us all.
