Libra begins with the autumn equinox, when the Sun passes from the northern to the southern hemisphere, making night and day of equal length. The seasonal time of Libra is the declining cycle of nature. Trees lose their leaves and days become shorter, although this is still happening slowly and gradually. As the Earth produces landscapes of rare beauty, there is still time for relishing soothing moments of harmony and calmness. At the same time activities intensify: animals gather their winter supplies or get ready to migrate, and at all levels agreements and preparations are made for the next season to come.
With Libra we move into the 2nd half of the Zodiac and reach a turning point. Here we start being involved with a reality which goes beyond the personal level and expands in the social order. The first step is to move from 1 to 2 and this process regards relationships and partnerships between two or more beings and the realisation of harmonic interactions through conscious or unconscious contracts. This brings a desire for justice and accord through equal considerations of both sides. Such attention is meant to build bridges between polarities, to lay aside differences and support connections.
