The most effective strategy for maintaining someone’s power is to name or highlight them all the time, with constant references in what you read, write, see and think. This strategy works both in the case of support and condemnation. The paradox in the latter instance is that the more you highlight photos or cartoons of whom you despise, naming them all the time, talking and writing about them, condemning and offending them in every way, the more you contribute to maintaining their power. The worst thing is that this power not only increases in the external reality, but also in your inner world, dominating your imagination, your dreams and your unconscious. The unconscious does not distinguish between affirmation and negation, it is unable to understand any form of dualism, but it is very sensitive to what you are turning your attention to. So if you say or write “no” to something or someone, even displaying their images, this gives them power.
But is it really worth spending the rest of your life condemning and offending your opponents? Don’t you think this is getting pretty pathetic right now? Why keep giving them all this importance? It’s like wanting to walk towards a place you like and looking in the opposite direction where there is a place you don’t like.
So what to do?
The most effective strategy for preventing someone from having power is to ignore them and
allow them to be replaced by what you consciously choose to empower.
Focus your attention on what you want, highlight it with words, images, drawings, writings, etc. Imagine it and think deeply about it. Take concrete actions towards what you like. Give it power within and without.
