I LOVE YOU
This is probably the most frequently used phrase in the world. Some are quite confident in saying “I love you” while others are hesitant.
To say “I love you” with integrity it is necessary to analyze every grammatical aspect of the sentence.
There are three steps in saying “I love you” with integrity.
1) First make sure that you are fully aware of the subject of the phrase, the “I” who loves someone. In other words you need to ask yourself “who am I?”or “who is the I who loves someone” and continue to do so till you get a clear and no-nonsense answer. Be patient since this may take some time.
2) Secondly you need to find out what you truly mean by “love”. There is a huge variety of meanings given to this word. For example, is it “eros” (sexual desire), “philia” (love and affection between friends), “storge” (related to the love between parents and children), “agape” (unconditional love or the love of God) or what is it exactly for you? Be patient since this may take some time.
3) Thirdly, make sure that you clarify what you mean by “you” (whom you love), is it the physical body of someone, their mind, their personality, their spiritual side? And also verify whether this “you” is just a fantasy in your mind, a projection of yourself. If you are truly honest this is very likely to be the case, implying that you need to return to step 1, and start over again.
