The final row includes the total for each PTU Region and the PTU Region Capital.
Details about the PTU Provinces of each PTU Region are also given, with the indication of the ternary division, the administrative departments in italics. When administrative departments include more than one PTU Province details about the arrondissements are given within brackets. Each PTU province also contains its corresponding ISO-code. Bavaria is divided into 7 administrative districts called Regierungsbezirke (singular Regierungsbezirk).  These administrative regions consist of 71 administrative districts (called Landkreise, singular Landkreis) and 25 independent cities (kreisfreie Städte, singular kreisfreie Stadt). Bezirke (districts) are the third communal layer in Bavaria. In the larger Länder of Germany (including Bavaria) there are Regierungsbezirke which are only administrative divisions and not self-governing entities as the Bezirke in Bavaria. The Bezirke in Bavaria are territorially identical with the Regierungsbezirke (e.g. Regierung von Oberbayern), but are a different form of administration (having their own parliaments etc.). The 71 administrative districts are on the lowest level divided into 2031 municipalities (called Gemeinden, singular Gemeinde). Together with the 25 independent cities (which are in effect municipalities independent of Landkreis administrations), there are a total of 2056 municipalities in Bavaria.
The Provisional Order Secondary Jurisdiction for PTU Area D8-2, within the Alemanie Nepiete Sinfaile Pralodia, is represented by the Munike Samaya, based in Munich.

Brandenburg is divided into 14 rural districts (Landkreise):
Berlin is subdivided into twelve boroughs (Bezirke), but before Berlin’s 2001 administrative reform there were 23. Each borough is subdivided into a number of localities (Ortsteile), which represent the traditional urbanized areas that inhabitants identify with. Some of these have been rearranged several times over the years. At present the city of Berlin consists of 95 such localities. The localities often consist of a number of city neighborhoods (usually called Kiez in the Berlin dialect) representing small residential areas.
