Where many see certain catastrophes, which strike some areas of the planet, as curses or divine punishments, just to see things upside down, I take the liberty of recognizing them as blessings.
Inevitably, every human being is confronted at some point with a radical catastrophe that leads them to lose everything, including their life. Such a tragedy can happen anytime, without warning, in the middle of the night, like the last earthquake. It can be a collective catastrophe, or a private event, which affects only one person.
The only certainty is that there will be a catastrophe. It is the only thing guaranteed in human life.
What remains a hypothesis instead is whether it will be a curse, a blessing, or something we don’t know yet.
Perhaps it becomes a blessing when it awakens a part of humanity, or a single person, from their hallucinatory state, which leads them to live in an artificial reality, without any foundation.
This radical catastrophe has always happened since the beginning of linear time. Yet, every time it comes it catches us unprepared, as if it were an event extraneous to the actual nature of existence.
A catastrophe, of which we are witnesses or protagonists, yet not in a fatal way, can become a blessing if it allows us to open our eyes and change the way we continue to live in this world. Unfortunately, catastrophes in this world tend to promote retaliation, revenge, war and, paradoxically, preventive measures, cures and remedies, which foment even more tragedies, or ignorance regarding the nature of catastrophes.
Understanding what these catastrophes really are and facing them, going to the end, should be the only sensible purpose of human existence. The fact that I have never noticed any real interest in either consensus reality or alternative environments for as long as I’ve lived in this world, towards that end, is one of the aspects that most confronts me with my alien condition.
The term “catastrophe” comes from the Greek katastrophḗ which means “overturning”. Perhaps it follows that you can understand what a catastrophe is if you open yourself to a radical overturning of consciousness, turning it upside down, to the point of openly recognizing, just to see things upside down, your alienation from mankind.
