According to many traditions, the summer solstice is the threshold through which the soul enters the world of matter. So these days it would be useful to stop for a moment and ask yourself what the meaning of life is. The point is that if you are a smart and mature person, you should know the meaning of life well, so it is simply a matter of applying it. In the course of your life you have met relatives, elders, teachers, authorities, wise people, individuals of great integrity and existential solidity who know a lot about the meaning of life. You, too, can become, or maybe you have already become, one of them. So it is a matter of taking note of the meaning of life that you know and applying it, period.
However, suppose the true meaning of life is something completely different from what you have been told by all these wise men, perhaps including you. Consider the hypothesis that all human beliefs about the meaning of life, both conventional and alternative, are radical and immense idiocies.
So, what would you do if you learned that you are here in this world for a reason radically different from all the others you have known so far? A reason that would mercilessly demolish all those who flaunt every alleged certainty about the meaning of life?
Well, in order to unmask all these impostors and steal even a faint glimmer of truth, I would be willing to accept any purpose in life, even the worst possible, as well as the absence of any purpose, including the instantaneous disintegration of this world as a consequence of the mere reflection of a remote shred of pure light.
