Saying goodbye, facing the end of relationships, accepting loss and release of what we treasure in life is part of the special training for the voyage through death. Learning to let go allows us to prepare ourselves for the moment when we are inevitably going to release everything and everyone we have been attached to in life. What we perceive as horrible experiences of loss are mainly the rehearsal of the time when we will lose all we have. The task here is to find out in anticipation what is left when we lose all we have, so that when we do lose all we have, we can own what is left. And if nothing is left, then we can own nothing.
