The Spring Equinox takes place this year on 20 March 2015 together with a second New Moon in Pisces (at 29°27′), which is also a total solar eclipse. This makes the beginning of spring a most decise event.
Extraordinary and powerful situations are triggered on New Moons with solar eclipses. The trepidation and awe that such events provoked in ancient times inevitably put in position of power those who were able to predict them. Thus most magicians, astrologers, priests and shamans did their best to study the evolution of the eclipse cycles.
The position of an eclipse in the natal chart is strategically useful for it allows identifying areas of major concentration of energy for the whole cycle of the year. This New Moon is at 29°27′. The astrological house where the New Moon and eclipse fall in your natal chart indicates the areas of life which receive more emphasis and focus for the whole year. It also shows the themes that will operate as Intent and driving force. An additional boost of energy will affect people born with ascendant, sun, moon or other significant planets and points at around 23 to 30° of the signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, and at approximately 0 to 5° Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
New Moon, eclipse and Spring Equinox together create the most powerful conditions for birthing the seed of what abides in the depth of your authentic nature. The seed is present at the Lunation point, yet it exists merely as a potential without definite shapes. The Moon is unseen, cloaked by the radiance of the Sun, and yet it will paradoxically obscure the Sun, the seed dwells hidden in the darkness of consciousness, yet this darkness triumphes with the eclipse, leaving a most tangible mark in the sky of our awareness.
This can be a most ideal time to initiate new healing ventures aimed at mending the web of life and retrieving our lost connections. As the Sun enters its luminous cycle of ascension, ample energy is available to implement pioneering actions for large scale healing processes.
These actions are crucial in the realisation of all greatest achievements that ultimately reach completion on this planet. They require guts of steel, heroic spontaneity, openness, audacity, luminous assertion, playful excitement and all the other spiritual warrior qualities of Aries, the fist sign of the zodiac. Hence, if there is something you truly cherish in life for yourself and others, this is a great time to take action, to move towards that result.
This is a time of crucial transition in the seasonal cycle, happening between Pisces and Aries. Winter gives way to spring, the vertical moves into the horizontal. This is a Mighty Gap, the quantum leap from one realm to another, a cross-road leading either to a joyful radical redefinition of our nature or to yet another forlorn change within the same looping story.
Pisces represents both the peak of human consciousness and the bottom of ignorance, just as Aries depicts both the beginning of a new age of light and loss of awareness or going back to square one. Pisces and Aries are respectively the last and the first of the 12 signs. The 12 signs are the 12 fragmented parts of our soul.
With Pisces the sequence of the signs is completed, which means that we have had an experience of all 12 parts. This does not imply that these parts have been fully retrieved and integrated. And even if we have managed to regain them, we can still lose them again. The retrieval process is exemplified by the sequence of numbers progressing from 1 (Aries), 2 (Taurus) and finally to 12 (Pisces). Yet when I reach 12 (Pisces), the linear sequence is challenged, and instead of moving to 13, it goes back to 1 (Aries).
In this Mighty Gap between Pisces and Aries there is a zone of dissolution. The traditional sequence cannot move further than 12 and there is no space for the 13th, which is bound to be sacrificed so that 1 can return and pave the way for another repetition of the previous cycle. On a pragmatic level, when we reach this strategic Gap, we confront the opportunity of definitively leaving behind outworn scripts, fully embracing our true luminous story which is finally meant to emerge.
